It's estimated that 80% of people will be affected by back pain at some point in their lives. 45% of people suffer from neck and back pain, and over 40% of people suffer from hip or knee pain.
The human body is a complex fascial web consisting of hundreds of bones, muscles, ligaments and tendons that are designed to work in harmony with each other to enable us to do everything from walking to more complex movements such as running and jumping.
Due to our sedentary lifestyles our bodies are not functioning as optimally as they could and this can lead to a host of injuries including;
- Acute or Chronic Back or Neck Pain
- Spinal injuries such as Prolapsed Disc, Spondylosis or Stenosis
- Iliac-Sacral, Coccyx, Hip or Knee Pain
- Sciatica or Piriformis Syndrome
My name is Dean Griffiths, I am a Sports Injury Therapist and Corrective Exercise Specialist. I studied through the prestigious CHEK Institute in San Diego and have spent over 20 years working with clients to address a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. My main focus is to restore functional movement as soon as possible.
I offer a 6-week rehabilitation program for clients in Central London that includes (2) 75-minute sessions per week in the privacy of your own home. Your first session will include a functional and movement assessment that allows us to see where your body is compensating and therefore creating symptoms of pain or discomfort.
From your assessment we will start working on improving your flexibility and mobility, which are the foundations for reducing your symptoms and minimising the risk of future injuries. I will also create an exercise program that I will work with you on during our future sessions. This program is designed to help re-balance and strengthen your body for better movement and functionality.
I have trained in a number of rehabilitation therapies including Muscle Activation, Primal Reflex Release Technique and Polarity Therapy that are included in your sessions as needed to help you recover faster.
Finally, we will look at your diet, sleep and stress levels in order to reduce pain and inflammation.
My aim to help you is not just to get pain-free but to improve the health and functionality of your body on multiple levels. If necessary, I will recommend other professionals who we can work closely with or who can further your results outside of what I do with you.
At the end of your program you have the option to meet once a month with me for 90-minutes to re-assess and create an updated stretching and exercise program for you to follow.
